A New Y for the Upper Cape
Since 1966, YMCA Cape Cod has been committed to building a better community – working with our neighbors to be a catalyst for positive change. Each year, more than 10,000 people are engaged with YMCA programs, nearly 5,000 are children.
We have a history of investing in the well-being of our community. Today, we renew our commitment with our plans to build a new Y to transform the lives of children, families and adults of the Upper Cape.
The Y has been serving the Upper Cape for 60 years. We started by providing wellness classes at Falmouth High School. In 2015 we began offering after school programs, summer camp and early childhood education for the children of the Upper Cape. To serve a growing demand, we look to the community to help us build a permanent home to offer more programs and services that support a vibrant quality of life for people of all ages and backgrounds.
While we are proud and excited of the possibilities these designs represent, all designs are conceptual and are being refined as we better understand what the community will support.

Why the Y?
What Is The Y Already Doing In Falmouth?
YMCA Cape Cod is already serving the needs of the Falmouth community by offering options for:
Early Education and Childcare
- The YMCA Cape Cod has three early education centers across the Falmouth area, and offers Early Head Start and Head Start programing, in addition to serving children ages 3 months to 5 years.
- Our caring teachers and educator assistants are professional role models who will mentor your children while teaching the core Y values of caring, honesty respect and responsibility every day. These early education centers provide the highest quality infant, toddler and preschool care year-round, Monday through Friday from 6:30AM -5:30PM. Call 508-362-6500 ext.1020 for pre-enrollment information and to schedule a tour! Learn more about our childcare programs.
- The Y also offers before and after school programing at a number of elementary schools throughout Falmouth, including extended care.
Summer Camps
- Summer camp is about adventure and discovery. At Camp Lyndon, kids have the opportunity to explore nature, find new talents, try new activities and gain independence. And, of course, it’s lots of fun too. We provide convenient bussing pick up and drop off locations around the Falmouth area.
- The Y also offers 2 summer camp programs within the town of Falmouth. One in Woods Hole and another at the Morse Pond School.
- See our Camp page to learn more about Camp Lyndon, Camp Falmouth, or Camp WHOI/ MBL and start your kids on an adventure!
YMCA Diabetes Prevention Program
- The YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program is a community-based lifestyle improvement program for adults with pre diabetes. Its purpose is to empower adults with lasting lifestyle changes that will improve their overall health and reduce their chance of developing type 2 diabetes.
- Currently, diabetes affects nearly 26 million people. Another 79 million have pre diabetes and are at risk of developing diabetes, but only 11 percent are aware of it.
- Research by the National Institutes of Health has shown that programs like the YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program reduce the number of new cases of diabetes by 58% overall and by 71% in individuals over age 60.
