YMCA Cape Cod Elects 2018 Board of Directors Officers

West Barnstable, MA – The YMCA Cape Cod is pleased to appoint four members of their Board of Directors to officer posts in 2018.  Board leadership will help steer the YMCA through its next phase of development, setting strategic priorities and guiding the charitable organization as a governing body.

Mark Skala, Vice President of Account Management at Lighthouse Media Solutions, will serve as Chair of the Board of Directors. Skala most recently served as Vice President of Marketing and Community Relations at Bank of Cape Cod, and prior spent 25 years in the print and digital media business on Cape Cod and the Boston area. Skala has also been active in the community for a number of years, serving organizations like the Y, the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod, and the Hyannis Chamber of Commerce.

Laurel Hartman, CMP, MBA, Director of Content Marketing Sales for Cape & Plymouth Business Publishing, will serve as 1st Vice-Chair. Hartman previously spent more than 20 years in the hospitality industry. She also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Academy of Performing Arts.

David Botting, President & CEO of Community Connections, Inc., will serve as Treasurer and 2nd Vice-Chair. Botting was deeply involved in the startup of the Yarmouth Food Pantry, first serving as Treasurer and later as President. He continues to be a Yarmouth Rotarian, and a veteran of the United States Coast Guard.

Ann Tangen, Senior Vice President, Chief Operating and Information Officer of The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod, will serve as Secretary of the Board of Directors. She currently serves as Treasurer of the Congregational Church of South Dartmouth, is a Board Member of the Boys and Girls Club of Middlesex County, and is the President of the Alden Pettengill Foundation, Inc.
