At the Y our first priority has always been the health and safety of our members, program participants, and staff. We are honored to be a part of your wellness journey and understand the diverse roles that Aquatics plays in each of your lives. While we make every effort we can to keep our pools open, there are a number of reasons that will require us to close our pools. In an effort to be as transparent as possible, we would like to share these with you.
Circumstances out of our control that will cause the YMCA Cape Cod to close its pools:
• Blood in the water – minimum of 30 minutes
• Fecal (Solid) – minimum of 30 minutes
• Fecal (Liquid) – minimum of 12.75 hours
• Vomit – minimum of 30 minutes
• Injury
• Weather
• Mechanical Failure
• Unplanned Repair
The YMCA Cape Cod will also close its pools in response to the following
• Chemical imbalance
• Water Clarity issues
• Planned Repairs
• Lack of Staffing
Of course our aim is to keep the pool open as often as we can, but in the event we are required to close we want to be as transparent as possible.
