COVID-19 MASK GUIDELINES

The YMCA Cape Cod Board of Directors and Organizational Leaders have adopted the official CDC recommendations as our source of instructions for the on-going COVID-19 pandemic. According to the CDC COVID-19 Data Tracking, Barnstable County has moved to a “HIGH COVID-19 Community Level Transmission” status.

What does this mean for our Y?

Effective 5/7/22 – Staff, Members, Volunteers, Contractors, and Program participants will follow CDC recommendations for communities in “High Transmission” and will wear masks indoors at all YMCA Cape Cod locations and YMCA Cape Cod organized events & meetings, regardless of location. According to the CDC, vaccinated people may choose NOT to wear a mask outdoors.
We are monitoring the CDC data, as reported weekly, and will keep you informed of any changes to the CDC recommendations as soon as we become aware.
On behalf of our Board of Directors and organizational leaders, we are deeply grateful to our members, volunteers, and participants who continue to hang in there with us under these pandemic conditions. Your support of the Y as a community role model for healthy living practices is truly appreciated.
The world is short staffed and we need our people to stay with us so we can continue to serve. In addition to masking indoors, we are additionally asking for grace and kindness towards others during these stressful circumstances.
