Here at the YMCA Cape Cod, we remain committed to nurturing the potential of every child and teen, improving your health and well-being and giving back and providing support to our neighbors. To help support the health of our members while the facility is closed, the YMCA Cape Cod has been streaming our favorite group exercise classes featuring your favorite group exercise instructors. Just because we aren’t in the same room doesn’t mean we can’t be here for each other, together.

*Update* Starting June 8th we are excited to announce that we will be offering outdoor group exercise classes! Please refer to the schedule below for outdoor and online sessions. How to join

1. Visit our registration page at: https://ops1.operations.daxko.com/Online/3176/ProgramsV2/Home.mvc
2. Login into your account profile
3. Select the class you wish to attend.
4. Fill out a class waiver and click register.

Outdoor Classes

Social Distancing:

  • Facemasks are required while entering and exiting the basketball court and in emergency entrance to the Y building.  Facemasks are not required during class participation if social distancing is maintained.
  • Instructors will take attendance and manage wait lists.
  • The basketball court is marked out in 10-foot sections.  Members stay at least 6 feet apart by staying within their designated 10-foot zone.
  • Please exit the exercise area immediately after class ends to eliminate social gatherings.

Hygiene Protocol:

  • Hand-sanitizer will be available near the exercise area.
  • Restrooms will only be available for emergency use.
  • Participants will bring their own water/beverage.
  • We strongly encourage handwashing with soap and water as soon as possible after class.

Inclement Weather:

  • If it is raining, classes will be canceled.
  • If it starts raining or active thunder and/or lightening during a class, the class will be canceled immediately, and members are asked to shelter in their vehicles.

 Equipment

  • Yoga/stretching mats must be provided by the participant.
  • Staff will disinfect equipment between classes.

Online Classes

How to join

What you’ll need:

  • Smart phone, tablet or PC with an internet connection
  • Headphones or speakers
  • Clear space

Please note that while most classes will not require specialized equipment, will need additional tool. For example Y-Cycle will require use of a spinning bike. The class description will note if you need anything extra for the workout.

Step 1: Follow us on Facebook www.facebook.com/ymcacapecod/live/
Step 2: Find a safe and convenient place in your home to participate
Step 3: Position your device at a distance where you can see and hear the instructor
Step 4: You will get a Facebook Live alert on your phone at the scheduled time that will take you directly to the virtual workout
Step 5: Interact with your instructor and class via the comments section
