We apologize for the multiple mechanical heating systems issues. Our VP of Facilities & Property Development is working on these issues daily. On Monday, our main boiler, and third source of heat for the pool and childcare wing, went down. As a result, the large pool will be closed until April 12th.
The pool is scheduled to re-open, with normal hours, on Monday April 12th.
The boiler system will be fully replaced this week, restoring our main heating system. Our second heating system, the Cogen, was repaired earlier this week. Once the boiler is finished, two, of our three, heating systems will be back to 100%.
Our pool uses a three part system to heat the pool: a boiler, Cogen unit, and Dectron unit. There are thousands of parts between these systems – motors, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, etc. When one system is down, we have the ability to compensate for one with the other two. When two systems are down, it’s a battle to maintain pool temp. When three systems are down, there is no possible way to maintain the pool temp or heat our child care center. Currently all three systems are down.
The Dectron unit’s parts will arrive from overseas in two weeks and repaired as soon as they arrive.
In addition, we have recently switched HVAC vendors due to poor service from our prior long time vendor who did not have enough employees during this pandemic to respond to repairs in a timely fashion. So far, our new vendor has been very responsive, but receiving parts continues to take time.
