Sustaining Our Cause…
Case for Support
Major Gifts Initiative
We know that when we work as one, we move communities and people forward. the YMCA Cape Cod is fortunate to have forged strong and valued collaborations with many local agencies and community leaders. These relationships are the cornerstone of our efforts to continue to offer high-quality, life-enhancing programs to Cape Cod youth, families and seniors.
We are reaching out to our community partners to launch a major gifts initiative. Through this important campaign, we hope to challenge individuals to personally contribute, and to collectively engage others in a higher philanthropic purpose of strengthening the foundations of our community. Think of what we can achieve with your help.
The Y is invested in the health and well-being of our community. Every day we work to empower people to live their best lives through our three areas of focus; Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. Gifts to the Y allow us to continue to inspire individuals to reach higher and become better.
We invite you to join us as we expand and multiply the impact of our programs and services. Your gift directly impacts programs like aquatics, child care, and camp.
So many Cape families trust us to care for and nurture the potential of their children. Through this initiative, we will continue to promote youth development, offering the very best quality, affordable child care. The Y pioneered the practice of swim lessons nearly 160 years ago. Our aquatics programs teach 4,000 children on the Cape to swim each year. Many of the lifeguards who work on Cape beaches each summer have been trained at the Y. Through the success of this major gifts initiative, we will be able to set higher standards for air quality, and temperature control in our pool facility, improving the pool experience and encouraging more members to embrace healthy living through aquatic exercise.
The Y encourages social responsibility. Each year the Y serves over 17,000 people in 79 different New England communities. Our reach is broad. This summer, the Y served and delivered breakfast and lunch to 250 children from low-income families. Our Diabetes Resource Center is open to the entire community. The DRC offers valuable, life-saving information about Diabetes prevention. In addition, the Y facilitates opportunities to volunteer, advocate, and support programs that help people give back and support their neighbors.
This major gifts initiative will build the relationships necessary to attract transformational gifts. The volunteers, staff, members and donors of the Y are all united by a deep commitment to our cause: strengthening the foundations of community. With your help, we will continue to invigorate our mission: to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. Please join us!
