Job Title: Assistant Swim Coach

Job Description:

Under the direct supervision of the Head Coach, the Assistant Coach provides support with the day-to-day operations of our Mako Swim Team. The Assistant Coach is assigned to work with one or more training groups/levels with the program in accordance with the mission and policies of the YMCA. The assistant coach will create and execute in the water training programs to develop proper breathing and core body strengths and fundamentals of good swimming.

Qualifications:
This position requires a High School Diploma and prior competitive swimming experience. Previous coaching experience is preferred. Current lifeguard and/or Safety Training for Swim Coaches, first aid and CPR/FPR and AED certifications a plus. This individual must obtain ASCA (Level I), USA Coach certifications and safety certifications within the first six months of employment. The Assistant Coach must be able to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, colleagues, parents and swimmers. All coaches must have a clear understanding of the YMCA mission and the overall goals of the Aquatics Swim. Must possess excellent organizational, problem-solving and communication skills.
