The YMCA Cape Cod is a volunteer driven not-for-profit community service organization serving the local region. An elected 20 to 35 member volunteer Board of Directors serves as the governing body of the YMCA in accordance with association bylaws. The YMCA Cape Cod Board of Directors has full power and authority for the following:
- Planning and Policy Decisions: Setting the association's direction and establishing policies to guide the operation of the organization.
- Financial Development: Fiduciary responsibility for all the assets of the organization.
- Monitoring and Sanction: Ensures the achievement of goals and objectives and contributions to community betterment.
As the ultimate decision-making body, the board determines the areas of work needed for the YMCA Cape Cod including standing or task committees to best accomplish the chart of work.
