Dear Members,
These are exciting times at your YMCA as we watch the new West Barnstable facility addition unfold and take shape. During the past few months we have made enormous progress on the building construction and are on schedule for a Grand Opening in September. Thank you for your patience throughout this challenging construction project as we expand our facilities and programs to meet your needs --- and that of the greater Cape community. With the building envelope nearly ‘buttoned up’ from the weather elements, interior construction underway, exciting new equipment purchases and programs in the planning stages, 2009 promises to be our best ever!
To date, we have raised $7.8 million in gifts and pledges from over 300 donors who have contributed to this significant ‘project of community benefit’. We are so close --- but we’re not there yet! We hope we can count on our members and the Cape community to help us reach the finish line! If you have not joined our campaign – Y Capitalize – please do so! Engraved bricks and pavers may still be purchased for the walkways and Memorial Wish Garden and will leave a lasting impression and a legacy for generations to come. Your generous pledge may be paid in monthly, quarterly or semiannual payments and will help us close the remaining gap of $700,000 to receive both the Kresge Foundation and Bilezikian Family Foundation Challenge Grants by April 1, 2009. In these difficult economic times, your support is more important than ever!
With your help, we will be one step closer to our vision – a YMCA that serves our Cape families for generations to come. In the end, the success of our campaign will have been much more than bricks and mortar, it will have been about investing in our members and the communities we serve. We are committed to providing healthy lifestyle programs for people of all ages.
