YMCA Cape Cod Summer Camps
and Diamond’s Edge Farm Present
Horse Care and Riding Lessons At YMCA’s Camp Lyndon

Horse Care and Riding Lessons Brochure

Summer 2010 is a perfect time to welcome horse riding and animal care to YMCA Cape Cod Summer Camps! Through a wonderful new partnership with the West Barnstable based Diamond’s Edge Farm, Camp Lyndon now offers a specialty camp that takes experiential learning to the next level.

The horse care philosophies taught by Diamond’s Edge owner Brenda Tri and her teams of qualified instructors allow our campers to see horses as teachers and healers while learning safe handling and behavior techniques. Campers will learn all aspects of care and horsemanship including the importance of feeding, watering, habitat & tack care and of course, riding!

Working with horses teaches patience, improves self-esteem and relieves stress by providing physical exercise. It also teaches responsibility which fosters accountability and independence in the campers’ lives. Playing, grooming, grazing and riding all encourage the empathetic relationship between camper and animal while you gain respect, confidence and communication skills with your new friend!

This program is designed for registered Lyndon campers ages 8 to 16 to participate for 2 hours out of their camp day for the entire 2-week session during sessions B, C, and D. Cost is $150 per camper per session.
